Davide Ortalli began to study Violin at the age of 8 and continued his studies at the “Conservatorio G. Verdi” in Como having his diploma with honors.
In 2002 he was admitted to “Tibor Varga Academy” in Sion where he could practice with Tibor Varga, Francesco De Angelis and Mirjam Contzen.
After having completed his violin formation, he studied Viola in “Haute École de Musique du Valais” in Sion with Nobuko Imai and Ulrich Eichenauer. He took in 2009 his Concert and Orchestral Performing diploma.
He attended also Pedagogical Courses in Sion and Lugano.
He plays regularly in different orchestras, such as Orchestra “I Pomeriggi Musicali” in Milan, “Orchestra Sinfonica della Rai” in Torino, “Orchestra Toscanini” in Parma, “Orchestra Petruzzelli” in Bari and “Orchestra del Teatro Regio” in Torino.
He performed also as soloist and in chamber music, playing with Francesco De Angelis, Gyula Stuller, Mirjam Contzen, Gabor Takacs-Nagy and Marcio Carneiro. In 2008 he participated to “Verbier UBS Summer Academy”.
He was chosen by Riccardo Muti as a member of Orchestra Cherubini during the period 2008-2011.
Maestro Muti says about him ”under my direction Davide Ortalli showed great musical, artistic and professional skills”.
